Shahid was asked to choose between two of his blockbuster films' characters Kabir Singh and Aditya from Jab We Met. Shahid without a single thought picked his character Kabir Singh which drew flak on social media. Netizens massively slammed the actor for his choice. Shahid played the character of Aditya Kashyap in the 2007 film Jab We Met and fans loved his character while in the 2019 film Kabir Singh, he played the role of a drunk, angry, abusive lover, who struggles with anger issues.
