Dhoom 3 is one of the most awaited films of the year. The audiences are keenly awaiting for the film. There is so much on ground buzz that Leonardo DiCaprio's film Wolf Of Wall Street pushes its India release to 3rd January 2014.
In our industry it has become common talk where two big banner/big star cast films pit for a particular release date.... However for the first time we are witnessing a Hollywood film changing their India release date due to the tremendous hype of a Bollywood film.
Dhoom 3 is a big banner franchise film which an eclectic cast starring Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra and hence no other film was releasing in the same window.
The shift in date could attribute to broadly two reasons. First that Dhoom 3 is much in currency. The film has garnered a lot of hype due to which the Indian distributors took a last minute call to postpone the release of the film - Wolf Of Wall Street.
Also, the target audience of both the films would be a clash. Dhoom 3 is extremely stylized which attracts the youth (18 -35 age bracket). This is the same target audience for Hollywood films. Releasing the film during this period would only result in eating into their business.

Dhoom 3 is a film for all kinds of audiences including kids and family audiences. However, the youth is a key segment for the film.
A fair yardstick could have also been gauged by the advance booking of Dhoom 3 which started early this week. The film has got a phenomenal response with most weekend shows being 80 percent full already.
